Resolving Connectivity Issues with Hillrom
Q-Stress Machine at
Memorial Cardiology Associates
1. Introduction
Memorial Cardiology Associates faced a significant challenge when their Hillrom Q-Stress machine was no longer detected by the Q-Stress software, rendering it impossible to conduct stress tests on patients. Without the ability to record vital patient data, physicians were unable to diagnose heart conditions, leading to cancelled appointments and lost business.
2. Company Overview
Memorial Cardiology Associates is a leading provider of cardiology services, offering a comprehensive range of care—from prevention and early detection to advanced cardiovascular treatments. The clinic provides diagnostic testing, specialized procedures, and a vein clinic to support patients' heart health.
3. Problem/Challenge
The Hillrom Q-Stress machine was not detected by the Q-Stress software, which meant that stress tests could not be performed. The system was outdated and required delicate handling to avoid further issues during troubleshooting. As a result, patients’ data could not be recorded, which hindered physicians from diagnosing potential heart problems. With numerous appointments cancelled, the clinic faced operational and financial losses.
4. Solution
The physician contacted Badri Technoworld to resolve the issue and minimize patient downtime. Our team quickly began troubleshooting both the hardware and software components to identify the root cause.Upon examination, we found that the Q-Stress machine could be connected to the software either via USB or through a network connection. The software was installed on a desktop running Windows, which was not part of the same network as the machine.
Additionally, the machine was trying to connect via a wireless network on its own subnet, but the USB connection had not been enabled, which further complicated the issue.Further investigation revealed two network adapters on the desktop—one for LAN and another for WiFi. The machine was connected via WiFi, and by locating the WiFi adapter, we reset the connection by unplugging and plugging it back in.To ensure stable connectivity, we assigned a static IP address to both the desktop's LAN port and the machine's WiFi connection. After rebooting the system, we tested the connection between the machine and the software. The machine was successfully detected, and readings were recorded without issue.
5. Results
Our team’s expertise in IT hardware, software, network connectivity, and cardiology modalities allowed us to quickly identify and resolve the problem. The downtime was minimal, and Memorial Cardiology Associates was able to resume operations without further delay. Patients’ stress tests could now be performed, ensuring that heart conditions could be accurately diagnosed and treated in a timely manner.

Upgrading Server Infrastructure to Improve Workflow Efficiency at
Sair Dental Group
1. Introduction
Sair Dental Group faced significant operational challenges due to outdated server hardware and software. The data server, which was more than five years old, was lagging because it relied on mechanical hard drives for both operating system and data storage. The software, over 10 years old, was no longer capable of updating, resulting in frequent connectivity issues and slow performance across the practice.

2. Company Overview
Sair Dental Group is a premier dental care facility led by Dr. Mussadiq Iftikhar and Dr. Zameer Ali Khan. The practice offers a wide range of preventive and restorative dental treatments. With a commitment to providing top-tier care, the clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art materials and technology, ensuring patients receive the best possible dental services.

3. Problem/Challenge
The clinic's workstations frequently lost connectivity to shared drives, leading to the inability to access patient images and data. The dental software, Open Dental, would not load on one or more workstations due to these disconnections, causing significant disruptions to daily operations. The practice also faced issues with slowness, freezing, and crashing, especially while switching between modules in Open Dental, DentiMax, and VixWin.
The primary challenge was to resolve these issues without interrupting the clinic’s workflow, especially given the volume of patient data accumulated over the years. Minimizing downtime was crucial to prevent further disruption to the business.

4. Solution
The owner reached out to Badri Technoworld to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue. Our team began by performing a comprehensive assessment of the IT infrastructure and network.
Through extensive testing on all workstations, we determined that the server hardware was outdated and the software was unable to support modern updates. To address the issue, we took the following steps:

-
Built a new server equipped with a high-end processor, increased RAM, and faster SSDs for the operating system and application installations. We used reliable HDDs for data storage.
-
Set up RAID I for both the operating system and data storage to ensure redundancy and data protection.
-
Installed the latest version of Windows Server on the new hardware.
-
Migrated all data from the old server to the new one over the network, ensuring no data loss.
-
Installed and configured updated versions of Open Dental, DentiMax, and VixWin software, and integrated the three systems to ensure smooth workflow.
-
Disconnected the previous shared folders and mapped the new drives to all workstations for faster and more reliable connectivity.

5. Results
Thanks to our expertise in dental IT support, we successfully addressed the root causes of the problems that were affecting staff, dental assistants, and doctors. By following a well-planned, step-by-step migration process, we completed the server upgrade with minimal downtime, ensuring that the practice could resume operations with minimal disruption.

-
All workstations were successfully connected to the new server.
-
The speed and reliability of the network connection improved significantly, eliminating the connectivity issues that had been a daily frustration.
-
The software ran smoothly, with no more freezing or crashing during module switches, improving overall efficiency.

With the new server infrastructure in place, Sair Dental Group experienced a marked improvement in daily operations, allowing the team to focus on providing high-quality care to patients without IT-related interruptions.
